BE A SUPERBLOOMER

January 5, 2026 • Leave a Comment

Our Sunday school class did an Advent devotional.   One Sunday, we discussed a superbloom.  A superbloom is a rare event where vast numbers of wildflowers bloom simultaneously in desert or arid regions.  It is triggered by specific conditions.  A wet winter after several dry years, which saturates the soil and activates dormant seeds, followed by enough warmth, sunlight, and maintenance rains for seedlings to survive and flower, creating stunning and colorful landscapes.  If you were in a drought in 2025- 2026, it’s time for you to bloom; even if you weren’t, it’s time to be a superbloomer.

As I was scrolling through Instagram on Saturday, I found some reels posted by Dewayne Malone.  There were three little words all over the reels, but these 3 three little words stuck out to me.

ONLY GOD CAN- DUMP IT OUT- HAND IT OVER

If we want our own superbloom season, these three steps are essential.

ONLY GOD CAN

Only God Can reminds me of the Serenity Prayer.  We try to fix, take control, and change things, and it all leads to exhaustion.  We try to do things only God can do.  We were never meant to carry the weight.  If people fall, they fall; if things don’t work, they just don’t work.  Stop getting in the way of what God is doing.

DUMP IT OUT

God can’t fill us with what we need unless we dump it out. God can’t fill what you don’t empty.  Empty yourself, let there be no survivors of pride, ego, vanity, envy, jealousy, hate, love of money, and things.  We are tired because we keep filling ourselves with things that we either shouldn’t have or things God wants us to get rid of.  It is time to make room for what God wants to fill you with.  God wants to bless you, but we are too full of yesterday, too full of what they said, too full of control and regret and what ifs.  So let it go, dump it out.  So he can fill you.

HAND IT OVER

Hand everything over to him from 2025 or any time in the past that brings you hurt and grief.  Quit mourning things that you don’t need to mourn anymore.  Give yourself grace and allow yourself the healing you deserve.  Surrender everything from the past to Him. He has been waiting for it.  Give it all to Him, the things that are buried in the past, the things that creep into your mind when you finally have peace.  Hand it over.

To be a superbloomer in 2026, keep doing these things every day.  Never forget:  ONLY GOD CAN, DUMP IT OUT, and HAND IT OVER, and you will bloom all year.

And always remember to:

1.  Show up for JESUS – Start your day in the Word.

2. Show up for OTHERS – Serve others, whether they are like you or not, whether they annoy you or are difficult to understand. That is what Jesus did; He showed up for everyone.

3. Show up for YOU – You need to fill your cup before you can help fill others’ cups.

WE WILL FIND JOY WHEN WE SHOW UP FOR JESUS, OTHERS, AND OURSELVES.

As Father Mike says, “You pray for me, and I will pray for you.”

And as Tara Leigh says He’s where the joy is.

Have a great week, Cupcake loves you.

Hebrews 12 NIV

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so entangles.  And let us run this race with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.

All it takes is a few passionate people to change the world.
